Upon beginning to clean out the garage, I discovered one of those enormous dollhouse kits that my parents got for me when I was a child. The kit has been sitting new in the box for probably close to twenty years. I was just going to toss it on craigslist... but then Daniel saw it. :D Can you tell where this is going without me having to explain the rest?
It's going well actually. :) He told the guys at work about it... and they all laughed... told him he shouldn't have started it, because they are so complicated, and addicting. Turns out that the majority of guys he works with have attempted a dollhouse kit also. I'd seriously have never imagined. :)

Oils and Acrylics are 100x's messier then watercolors. Now that I've made the switch... Daniel's given me two rules...
1.) Do NOT make a mess.
2.) Do NOT get it on the dog
Sounds pretty simple right? This would probably be an effortless task if Pan wasn't such a THIEF... but it's his favorite game!
So yesterday, I left my painting setup only momentarily to go to the garage and get some paper towel. Pan couldn't have been unattended for more then 50 seconds.
I come back out the door, to find Pan, wet green paintbrush in his mouth, just staring at me.... wanting me to chase him.
I managed to get the brush away from him.... but by then, he had already gotten it on his face. It's much worse then this photo showes! Naughty dog!!

Urge
I'm compelled right now to buy some veneer... maybe walnut, maple, or hickory... and paint on it. The grain of wood is so beautiful. I can see it. Maybe soon. :)

One more time....
Hear my cry in my hungering search for you
Taste my breath on the wind
See the sky as it mirrors my colors
Hints and whispers begin
I am living to nourish you, cherish you
I am pulsing the blood in your veins
Feel the magic and power surrender to life
Every finger is touching, searching
Until your secrets come out
In the dance as it endlessly circles
I linger close to you now
I am living to nourish you, cherish you
I am pulsing the blood in your veins
Feel the magic and power surrender tonight

This is the first few paragraphs from "The Penguin Dictionary of Symbols," entry on dogs.
There are 7 in depth delicious pages on it's past and history.
During the last hours of my grandmothers life, she saw a dog. She asked, out loud, what it was doing in the house, and how it got inside. She told the dog that we already had a dog, and that he should leave. My mom watched my grandmother while her eyes followed this dog around the house.
It was an "out of the blue," kinda thing.... where my grandma had been sleeping for quite a while, woke up talking about the dog, and went right back to sleep.
The nurse told my mom over the phone that it's classic or common that people see dogs before they die.
Just an observation.
